How much oil does your truck take? I ask that based on the fact I have a 2022 Ram, so the book says 7qts, thats fine, and all I put, but I noticed on 2 seperate occations after changing oil adding the 7qts, running for a minute and then letting it drain back to double check my work, the stick shows right in the middle between add and full... Everything else I have ever owned would run right up the to full mark. So, Did I get a wrong stick or does everyone else see that on their end as well? I know its fine, just odd

and yes I check it on flat ground.. haha

If the Hemi dipstick is o-ring sealed like the EcoDiesel's , pull and wipe the dipstick, then read the level the second time you pull it out. A third time it might read high.
Check the oil first thing in the AM before you start the engine and preferably with the vehicle parked in the same level spot every time.

Unless of course you are running a bigger filter like the 20-820 by Royal Purple, you are going to need a little more than the 7 quarts, but like Crash said, I dip the stick a few times before I get a good reading and it's usually right at the full line or a little under ...

How long do you let it sit after you shut the engine off, before checking the oil level? It takes some time for the oil to all drain back into the pan. I let mine sit for a full 5 minutes before checking the oil level after engine shut down.

I have always checked oil first thing in the morning before starting the vehicle for the day. That way it has overnight for the oil to drain down. Anything else there is likely to be oil in gallyways etc and with the hemi there can be a significant amount still up in the motor even 20 minutes after shut down. To see what I mean, pull the stick when you park at night. Check it again in the morning. You can see up to a quart difference, depending on the motor.
