what's the best way to "hand calculate"? Easy steps, I'm very math challenged...
You simply divide the the amount of miles traveled by how many gallons of gas was used.

So, when you fill the truck up, reset the trip meter too. Then, when you put gas in it next time, divide the amount of miles you drove by how many gallons you put in to fill it back up.

If you want to get a more accurate reading, you can keep filling up as many times as desired, without resetting the trip meter…but you will have to keep a tally on how many gallons you keep putting in the truck. Then, when you get, say, a few thousand miles on the truck, do the calculation.

My not be a legit question but, divide liters used by kilometers driven divided by 100. Used 100 liters to drive 500 klms 100/5 gives you 20 liters/100. To convert to U>S. mpg. I U.S. gallon is 3.79 liters therefore 20liters/3.79 is 5.28 U.S gallons. 1 klm= .625 miles thus 100 klm is 62.5 miles. 62.5miles/5.28gallons So 11.84 MPG
Im pretty good with math but you just made that confusing as fock hahahahahah

Issue is he is in Canada. Our pumps dispense in liters, odometer and speedo are normally set to kilometers. We use liters/100 klm as a standard mileage. 5L/100 is great, 20L/100 not great, but it means nothing to Americans. Other choice is to set the EVIC odo to miles but you still have to covert liters at the pump to U.S. gallons.

Hmm. That is weird as heck. Wonder why kilometers per liter isnt a thing, like miles per gallon…
