Troubleshooting Notes:

* Issue: Foglight dash/EVIC lndicator does not come on when pressing the foglight switch

Fix: Have dealer activate LNJ sales code, or verify that they added it correctly. If using a diagnostic/code tool to activate within the BCM directly, ensure that foglights installed option is set to on.

* Issue: Foglights do not work, but EVIC lndicator comes on when the switch is pressed.

Fix 1: verify that 12v is present at the Wht/Org & Wht/Yel wire terminals at the bulb connectors. If not, then check at the 4 pin extension connector at the top of the bumper. If not there, then verify extension harness wires are inserted in the correct connector cavities under the PDC.

Fix 2: If using aftermarket LED foglight bulbs vs OEM incandescent bulbs, the polarity may be backwards at the bulb (LED bulb not compatible with Mopar harness).
- Try flipping the 2 pin bulb connector over and installing it to verify (may not lock this way). If it works then you need to find a way to swap the positive & negative wires to the bulb.

For 2500's you can get a 9145/9005 extension that you can de-pin the female end, swap the positive/negative wires on the pigtail and then reinstall in between the Mopar harness and the LED bulbs like this:
New (2) 9005 9145 HB3 H10 Extension Wire Harness Cable Sockets Wired Cable | eBay

For 1500's you will need a 9006 extension like this: 2x9006 9012 HB4 Fog Headlight Power Wiring Harness Extension Socket Adapter plug | eBay

@DugboS ,

With the holidays coming up and trying to close on a house still, I'm a little backed up but will work it in as soon as I can.

Send PM with your vehicle info and your email to get things started.

Man, what a thread! I have quick question. My 2013 Ram 2500 Tradesman does not have factory fog lights but, it has the fog light push button switch on the headlight knob. And, the indicator light shows on the cluster when pressed on.

Could I run a LED bar in the air dam area from this switch?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The fog light switch would be inside the round auto/off/parking/on switch. The push button switch you're looking at is for your cargo lamp. It took me a week to figure out what I was turning on :)

Maybe I didn't write that well enough. It is the push button inside the center of the headlight knob. My cargo light is bottom right beside the dash/ overhead light dimmer.

Oh, well you're that far ahead on the install.

Yeah,. It sounds like the foglight sales code may already be loaded. Did you buy the truck used? (Was it in a wreck or the bumper replaced at some point?)
Maybe you already have the 4 pin connector and wiring behind the lower left side of the bumper...
See the instruction sheet linked in the earlier posts for location and picture of the connector.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did buy the truck used. It was previously owned by the Diesel Tech the local Ram Dealership. He traded it to get a 3500 and 5th wheel. He took very good care of the truck. I have no reason to believe the bumper has been changed.

If the 4 pin connector is there, I would assume 2 would be hot for left and right fogs and two grounds? I guess my next question is:

Would there be enough amps to run a 20" LED light bar off of one leg of the 4 pin? I don't want to burn up the switch or melt wires.

eBay has 20" LED light bars with mounts for the Ram. They mount between the tow hooks. They come with their own dedicated wiring but, I would like to utilize the fog light button if I can.

Thanks again for the help!

Here's a video to assist with installing terminals in the yazaki sealed connectors:

Old thread, I know, but the only one I've found that shows the "extension" harness I need. Are you still building these to fit a 17 3500 Ram? If so, I'm looking for one....Screenshot_20180827-122932.jpg
