I have some 4.56 gears on the way. What would be some reasons that I would need a LSD? I mean I know for traction. But will I really be able to break the tires loose with the 4.56s mind that I have the 4.7l..? Not that I will be trying to. I'm really just looking for a little more acceleration.

I can get a stock unit that has been rebuilt for under $200. Would an aftermarket unit be worth the extra cost?

You might also like Auburn. I like it works well with 4.56 gears and in town driving.

You can never go wrong with Detroit. Put one in my 02 Camaro and I beat the crap out of that thing, never had a problem. Same with my '77 Ford f150 460. But I've also only heard great things about Auburn.

Hmm it is about 70 bucks cheaper. I may end up owning an Auburn if its as good as you guys say.

If I do consider the Auburn. Is there any difference in fluid changes? What is the normal life expectancy on the clutches before its time for a rebuild?

The Auburn Uses straight GL5 Stuff (pretty Sure 80w90) and absolutely no requirement for synthetic. The Company provides Friction Modifier but also recommends to use the Ford Friction Modifier (I use that). The diff will likely outlive the Truck unless you do Standing Burnouts each and every single day. So I guess I am the Opposite cause I run Full Synthetic in the C205.

If you are trying to get performance out of your truck, you would def need a Limited Slip! My stock 3.92 with my mods gets my one wheel a spinnin. I need some traction to grab the road n go!

Well I got the truetrac and the install kit ordered. It should be here tomorrow according to the FedEx tracking info. Hopefully I will be able to put it in sometime this week.

I got the install kit through Moes and it got here quick! I was able to order the truetrac through my work and got it for around 460. I thought that was pretty good. They had a deal going on and I got 2 free quarts of fluid with it. I dont think its enough but I'm not complaining.
