Do you have anything in your hitch receiver when you aren't towing? I had a step, but it has gotten rusty. Have to say I didn't use it much anyway, so I tossed it.

Thinking I want to plug something in there, but have not chosen what. There are RAM options, but it seems like there are plenty of RAM logos on the truck already.

Another step? Flag? Other options? What do you have?

I bought a plain hard rubber hitch plug off ebay for like $8. It stretches over the hitch and folds into it. I had gotten the decal a buddy's son and stuck in on.

I gotta haul water every week so the ball hitch stays in year-round.

Nothing in mine. Had the black rubber plug with the Ram logo in my 2013 1500 but mine is a 2.5" so harder to find that type again. When I had my 2007 I had a solid steel insert with a 2 5/16 ball that I left in there, when I traded it in tried pulling it out and it wasn't budging. Ended up leaving it in there. BTW-in PA it's illegal to leave an insert in there. Not sure if that applies to everything or just a ball sticking out. That said, I see it all the time and have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it. Guessing if you were rear-ended with one in they may write you up saying it caused more damage but that's a stretch too. The ones I have for my 2500 I keep under my back seat storage so they are always with me. Have a 2" and a 2 5/16" that stay in there.
