Does putting on -44 offset wheels really add a lot of stress to susp. ?

I’ve had 20x12s -44 offset with 285/50r20 tires on my truck for 3 years with zero suspension issues.

285’s on 12’s ... I’m sure that’s interesting

@VB712 I really like those wheels. I placed an order for them (20x9's) and after waiting a week for confirmation, I got the word back they were discontinued in the black/chrome. :manos:

Hey guys, its time I have to buy new tires so I say, what the heck, lets get those rims I always wanted! So I'm thinking about buying either 20x12 moto metals 962 -44 offset w/ Nitto NT420s 305/50R20 or 20x10 moto metals 962 -24 offset w/ same tire. I really like the wide stance that gives the truck and also the hollowed out look of the rims. I'm also currently leveled.

My worry is the added stress it will have on the suspension from what I've read with the -44s. If the difference between the -44 and -24 is substantial I may just go with the -24s.

Anyone have knowledge about the longevity of a suspension w/ -44 wheels?

Thanks guys!

EDIT:
I do have another question though. Both my current front tires are wearing out on the outer sides, almost to the point of them being slightly bald. Last alignment was when I get my level kit added. Was probably 1.5 years ago. Tires have about 30k miles on them. Is this anything to worry about with the actual level or just time for an alignment?

I'd rather not buy new tires/wheels all around and have this issue with the new tires.

Thanks! A few years ago I wanted the black/chrome and they were on national back order so I settled for the all chrome. Back in March I decided to check if they had any in stock and they did so I ordered them and sold the chrome ones

Gear alloy used to produce a knock off of the MO962 in Black/chrome FYI

would’ve purchased them actually in chrome vs Moto Metals because of price, but strongly disliked the faux rivets

Same here big time. The wheels I ended up getting showed in the pic online as without rivets but showed up with them. I went round and round with Custom Offsets but in the end, they gave me some cash back and I just ran with them. Now, 6 months in, the chrome is already pitting so there will be another fight soon.....

This will be their 4th Wisconsin winter and have a few spots on the rim radii where the salt sits. I have been wiping them down almost daily to minimize any more. Eventually I’ll have them dipped or PVD coated again because I’ve dropped a couple lug nuts zapping off with the impact. Such a clean, simple, ‘8’ spoke wheel though.

sorry to deviate off topic, 12 wides are no more stressful on components than all the guys with 70+ Lb 35” tires. The suspension will let you know when it’s tired, they test these towing near max towing/payload for warranty.

Look great! I wanted clean so went with these, but like I said they ended up with rivets which the pic didn't show.

Don't have a real good pic.
