I have a 2013 1500 Tradesman/Express Crew Cab 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi and power locks/keyless entry. My driver side door lock switches have stopped working and the truck randomly locks itself. The keyless works just fine and so does the passenger side switches. Sometimes after the truck has been turned off and locked I can hear the auto lock clicking trying to engage. I have tested another driver side switch which worked a couple times then would only click but not actually lock. Then it stopped working all together. I let it sit for 30 seconds or so and it would work a few more times then do the same thing. The junkyards I’ve talked to have been no help and the dealership wants $95 to diagnose it. What else could be causing the issue?

Side note: my 2011 1500 ST without keyless had this same issue. The switch was not the problem with it but I cannot remember what I replaced to fix it. Seems like a common issue with Rams.

My driver side shorted out and it unlocks... it goes wild and just keeps actuating and trying to the whole truck..that tailgate is loud. It does this while driving and often when parked, off and keys out-typically it does it more for an hour or two after shutdown. I can’t lock/unlock using my driver side door controls anymore. Eventually I’ll replace it I guess but for now it entertains me when people are so confused by the random noises

I know this is a very old thread... but I thought this might be helpful for people searching random door locking problems.... I was that guy once.
I had this problem with my 2004... Doors would randomly lock themselves... driving, sitting , parked... Sometimes so repetitive that I would disconnect the battery to avoid it draining....

I found the problem by playing with the drivers door keylock.... I was just lubing it up, Just to make sure it worked in case of fob failure.. Playing with the key back and forth, I could tell something wasn't quite right with consistency of the electric locks...

Ended up being a corroded switch.. The key lock actuates an electric switch that operates all the locks.... I never use the keylock, but the switch must have rotted out and went funky.... randomly actuating the locks.. I pulled the door panel and disconnected the switch.. No problems since...
