Door position switch/sensor location

Hey guys, first post. I just picked up my first truck, 2009 quad with 6'4" bed. After getting a few things fixed up on the truck it's been pretty trouble free for the first month.

Just recently I've started having an issue with my radio staying on after opening the door. I can hear the radio continuing to play for 45 seconds until the truck times out the radio.

I've been trying to figure out how a signal is sent to the truck to let it know the door is open. I'm used to other cars where they would have a pin sticking out near the door hinges, I'm not seeing it on this truck.

All of the other doors are operating fine and showing on my cluster when they're open.

I have the barebones radio, not an Lcd screen with USB. I did see there was a firmware update for the other radios with USB that addressed a similar issue but I don't think that pertains to this based on my radio.

It’s the latch itself that sends a signal to the BCM base on it’s position.

Any chance the latch can be fixed or does the whole assembly need to be replaced?

If the latch itself is actually bad, in needs to be replaced. It could also be the wiring going to the latch. Before you even mess with that, you can easily determine if there’s actually a problem with it. For the door in question, when you open it, does it show on the cluster the door being open and when it’s closed? If so, there’s nothing wrong with the latch or it’s wiring.

The truck is not registering the door being opened at all. Cluster does not display driver door open message on cluster. Other 3 doors work as intended.
