DPF problem

My ram 3500, 2022 has about 100k miles on it and this DPF keeps getting clogged no matter what I do. Basically, it constantly shows the message “regen in progress, keep driving”. After every 2-3k miles the filter gets full, the truck cuts down the power and tells me to go see dealer which I did at least 10 times already. 95% of the time truck’s hauling a 10,000-20,000 lbs trailer, hwy driven almost exclusively. I replaced all the filters, checked all the sensors, checked egr and other stuff, took the pipes off, got them boiled in the oven, etc. Nothing really helps, some dealers can’t even do a manual regen because they have no idea how to bypass an active code. The only thing that’s left is replacing the DPF which costs quite a lot, and no dealer would guarantee if it’s gonna solve the issue. At this point I consider a delete which I don’t really want to do since I won’t be able to get a safety/emission done on it anymore. So my main question is if it’s possible to keep driving with a full exhaust filter or the truck will eventually shut itself down? The reduced power sucks, but it can still do 70 mph on a good road. You exhaust ain't getting hot enough is my guess, even with those freeway miles. Maybe poor quality diesel? Try an additive yet? Do you use the usual additives for Cummins like cetane etc?

    A catalyst mixed into the fuel that burns off soot at lower temperatures. The most common FBCs are based on metal oxides, such as ferrocene, cerium, and platinum.

  • Millers Oils Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner and Regenerator
    A one-shot additive that reduces the regeneration temperature required to burn off soot particles.


  • JLM Diesel DPF Particulate Filter Cleaner
    A cleaner with a high concentration of active additives.

If it were me Id look at the ones that reduces the regeneration temperature required to burn off soot particles to try first. So glad I didn't have to deal with this when I was a truck driver. good luck to you

Is the truck loosing coolant with no signs of a leak? The EGR cooler could be leaking and that can allow coolant into the DPF.
The DPF pressure sensor could also be defective

Alphaobd allows you to do a standing regen. runs about 30min and took my 97% full down to 4%

It won't run if there is an active code though... But there is a way to fool it buy running the replaced DPF function which resets the differential pressure table.

Sounds silly, but what air filter are you running? There are a couple designs, and the '19+ trucks can do all sorts of weirdness with the "incorrect" air filter. Even Mopar and Fleetguard had design changes.
