I had posted this on an old thread I was reading, most likely not getting much attention anymore regarding the ABS / Traction control warnings:

Had this issue on my 2018 PowerWagon a few months ago (intermittent) then it stopped until about 3 weeks ago during a trip to OH, remained on for the 700 mile return trip until reaching NY's stop and go traffic and immediately stopped for another two weeks. Came on again yesterday as I was actually bringing it in to a dealer for the 20K check. Initial codes before more inten$ive diagno$ti$ mentioned several possibilities, all electrical but including the ABS and HCU modules. I also did find that the fuse was not seated properly but that fix only lasted 24 hours. Not sure if it's related but during the long trip back from OH there was a point where all my dash lights began to flicker and go out briefly, I made the next highway service area, fueled up and restarted without any further issues except the ABS/traction control warnings. Still waiting to hear from the dealer expecting the worst; my local dealer (purchased the truck 200 miles away at another dealer who had one on the lot) had never seen a PowerWagon before I brought mine in for an oil change and general inspection/service! I will update the thread when I get the expected bad/expensive news from the dealer service shop.

Update: Dealership is telling me I need the ABS module and controller (assuming the HCU), parts alone about $1000 with one of the two on backorder (guess there is a demand) and another $1000 and change for labor! this on a truck that just broke 20k miles! I've researched the parts cost and they seem to be in the ball park but the labor caught me by surprise. Any other members have experience with this issue?

That sounds crazy to me. There was an ABS recall on my 2021 PW. May want to look into that. The NHTSA recall # is 22V-140.

I saw that but I'm pretty sure it's for 2019 and up and the problem was the warning light not coming on when needed. I'm really surprised there isn't a recall or at least bulletin regarding my issue since it seems to be common and a vital part of the vehicles safety systems, go figure.

Any updates? Just got mine scanned at Auto Zone and code C0020-01 came up (ABS Pump Motor Control-General Electrical Failure'.
I do get a text occasionally from my dealer saying I have an open recall but when I look it up online or call the dealer they say there are no open recalls so guessing it is a gimmick to get me on the phone?

Same problem happened to me about 1-2 years ago at 17k miles. Took to dealer and they replaced ABS module under warranty.

Now its happening again at 35K miles, but now my warranty has expired. NHTSA has several complaints on this, yet no recall. Apparently there is a lawsuit which I signed up for.

Had the abs and traction control lights come and go for a couple of weeks. I took my 2018 pw in for a service and told them about the abs lights, and the dealer checked it out and said it was the abs pump. All at 12,000 miles replaced under warranty. The mechanic who changed the abs pump said the 2500's go through the pumps and the 1500's go through the modules. Had it been out of warranty would have cost me $850.00

Mine went a month ago on my 2018 3500 (ABS Module electrical fail) I had to wait until last week for the part to come in but it only cost $200 deductible on my MaxCare warranty.

I’m wondering if there’s a slim chance it could just be a bad electrical connection that occasionally triggers itself on or off from being jostled. But hey it’s a slim chance so focus on checking anything else suggested first.

Had mine repaired but had to pay out of pocket and my buddy has a garage that did the work. $500 for the part shipped to my door and $140 labor

Another dealer. Just called around until I found one but that was back around September or October

I found the part. Its now $700. Supply and demand I guess. My dealership told me the part is on back order til August! They are waiting for my warranty to expire is my guess.

I paid about $450 and $40 shipping but again, that was about 5 or 6 months ago
