2002 Ram 1500. 4wd. Can’t get driveshaft to slide back on. Can’t see a missing spline. Slides on about an inch. Then won’t budge. I got the truck with it already removed. Yes, it’s the correct driveshaft. I feel like I’m missing something very obvious. Can someone weigh in please.

sounds like something is blocking it, thats why you got it with the driveshaft off. you my have to dig into the rear end and take a look.

Are U saying the front spline will not slide into the rear of the tranny?

Check the female end for any burrs internally, do you have a emery stone or file to clean it up and its going into the transfer case is that correct.

Yes. The female end (driveshaft) is typical and missing a spline, like it’s keyed. When I look at the male (transfer case) there is no notch. I’ve looked like 30 times. Also it slides on the first inch as it should. This should be simple. The new rear axle went on quicker.
