Lately I've been hearing a popping or a clunk in the drivers seat in my regular cab 14 ram 1500 express. It sound like it's either coming front the back of the seat bottom or the back rest of the seat. The seat isn't powered. I can't seem to find anything loose either. I've been thinking of taking my truck to the dealer since it has a few thousand miles left on the bumper to bumper warranty. Anyone else have this issue.

Kori, thanks! My local dealer is Greiger motors in Valparaiso, that's where I bought the truck too. I plan on taking it in this week, just haven't made an appointment yet.

I have a similar type of noise. Took the truck to the dealer twice, they didn't hear anything. No longer in warranty but noise is still there. Only hear it when making a turn, but not every time. Unless it gets worse, not much that can be done.

Just a wild guess have you checked all the seat bolts? All tight ? Could a Spring have broke?Try pushing down on the seat in different sports . It may be a spring that is loose or broke a weld ? Just a guess :) Now the Noise I get from my drivers seat comes usually after TACO's and Burrito's :roflsquared:

If you ever do find out the issue please update us Thanks

Seat bolts were all tight, doesn't seem like it's a broken spring. I have an appointment at my local dealer on monday. I'll see what they say. Now I do get the taco noises once in a while in my driver seat, I can pin point them by the smell! I will update after I take the truck in to the dealer.

I had an appointment this morning at the dealer, they ended up ordering a new seat adjuster frame. They didn't find anything broken on the frame but they said it was the cause of the popping I've been hearing. They also looked into my radio freezing up while using the satellite radio. They tried updating the radio but it wouldn't fix the problem so under warranty they are replacing the radio and the seat frame.

Hey SD38-2,

Sounds like your dealership has everything under control, which is great to hear. Please let me know how everything works for you once the repairs are complete.

I dropped my truck off Wednesday night, I was given a 2017 1500 ram to drive while they worked on it. I picked up my truck after work Friday and the seat noise is gone and the radio isn't freezing up anymore. I'm very happy with the service depts staff and work.

I had same issue with F150. They greased the mounting surface between the seat and track. Problem solved.

I have the same problem on my ‘12 ram crew cab. It appears it’s a very common problem andnancan of molly chain lube. There’s a complete procedure to fix the issue but another user had his fixed under a TSB.

Mine makes more of a popping sound and I could have sworn it was something in my floorboard storage compartment. But it’s definately not. It’s empty and still clanking. It’s irritating the crap out of me.

Mine is doing it now, I can feel it, usually when I think I am making a left turn, it's driving me nuts.

2019 Classic with the same issue here. First time I took it in, they tightened the track bolts. It sounded better for a few weeks but now is worse than ever. I talked with Don Davis and they said the trim guy would ride with me to hear it. I will post results when I get this done.

Definitely post up results because my 2019 classic is doing it as well. I removed the front mounting bolts and reinstalled and it went away for a few weeks. But still does it now and then.
