My driver’s side power seat won’t go forward all the way and the front of it won’t go up or down to adjust the pitch. The middle square switch will only adjust the back of the seat up and down and will adjust the seat forward about an inch and a half. The back switch works as it should to adjust the pitch for the back of the seat.

What’s the problem and the Solution?

Thanks in advance!

My best guess would be failed seat track motors that adjust the track. Get yourself a DVOM and a test light. You can probe the connectors at each motor to verify that the motor is receiving a power signal when you operate the switches.

Welcome to the Ramforum HideEmCowgirl

I believe every 6 way power seat has 3 electric Motors
They are all identical

If it was my truck, i would look to see if the ( 4 )? bolts that hold the seat cushion in place are easily accessed

Otherwise you have to take out the whole seat,
or the 2 front bolts would have to be taken out completely, & the rear bolts would have to be backed off several threads, then you could try leaning the seat back, it may not work, but i felt it should be mentioned.

The whole seat removal is shown in this video
The bolts holding the seat to the floor board can be tough to loosen

call up your local auto wrecking yards to see if they have any working seat motors for your Ram

Nice catch HemiLonestar

I just saw the 2009 & the Cummins did not register

Heavy duty Ram trucks are always 1 year behind the 1500 models

So her 2009 Ram with Cummings would have 2008 Ram parts for the most part

Your seat bottom will be very similar to this image

This guy made a video about working on his power seat to get it to work
some of it almost made me laugh
several times he was fighting himself, seat removal would have been his best bet

He mentioned a seat frame & 3 motors for $400
that would be a great deal if you had bad motors
