I have a 2018 Bighorn with OEM projectors installed using the headlight revolution conversion harness. It was my understanding that these would work with DRLs however when I took them in to the dealer and got the code turned on I got:

B16D3-15 RIGHT DRL CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORT
B16CF-15 LEFT DRL CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORT

Anybody in here know what I need to do or what the issue is?

Thanks !

If your truck came with quads, and you added projectors, then you’re missing the dedicated DRL circuit wire from each headlight going to the bcm, therefore the sales code won’t work. The alfa can do it, though, like JB1 said.

If your DRL for quads is set to high beam at half power on the quads does it stay that on the projectors as well?

From my understanding, yes you are correct. If you had DRL's on your quads in the high beams and you swap to the projectors, then the high beams will continue to function as your DRL's on the projectors.

I am close to pulling the trigger on a used set of OEM projectors, but the only thing holding me back is some confusion I have with regards to the DRL's.
My truck currently has the quads with DRL's activated from the factory (Canadian truck). If I swap to projectors, I want the amber LED strips to function as the DRL's.
Can anyone confirm that this is possible with alfaOBD, and if so what the exact settings are, keeping in mind that like I said I have a Canadian truck which already has the DRL's set as the high beams.

I just activated my turns signals as DRLs on factory projectors the other day via alfaOBD. All the info you need is in the DIY section under AlfaOBD thread

Thanks Razzman. I've read a lot about guys with factory projectors activating their DRL's, but I haven't found much info about people who have done the same but with quad to projector swaps. Also not sure if any of the directions are different as I have a Canadian truck which already has DRL's. Hoping I'm overthinking this!!

Ok don't shoot me because everytime I look at this I have to go off memory and I'm not an engineer.

These screen shots should give you a better idea of what Alfa can do.

1 and 2 screenshot make sure are turned on

Next this is where you choose where the DRL's are going.

Word of warning I have not tried out each of these features. You're mileage might vary.

Lastly a couple more setting changes.

This is by no means an end all be all how-to. Just some suggestions to get you started if you go this route.

If this is intended for zacbar, then this method (the dedicated DRL pics) won’t work for him. He’s got quads now and is swapping in projectors. I’m only *assuming* that he’s going to use some sort of conversion harness that plugs into his existing bulb connectors. This means that the dedicated DRL circuit won’t be there at his new projectors. This method DOES work for those that have projectors from the factory, and it IS the method as if the dealer were to add the sales code. @zacbar, this is the method you are going to want to use (copied and pasted from the known working list):

CBC Features: DRL Configuration Select “Optional DRL”

CBC Features: DRL Lamp location (several to choose from, high beam, low beam, fog lamp, dedicated and SRT Light Bar) Known working high beam, low beam, turn signal and fog lamp.

CBC Features: DRL Dropout Enabled

Select “yes”

ECU3: DRLCustomerSettingEnable/Disable Select “yes”

Custom settings menu: DaytimeRunningLightsCSM Select “yes”

For location, you’ll want to choose “turn signal”.

I was just posting as you posted this. The method in that document is the one you would use, also.
Thanks for everything, it has been a very difficult day and you helped solve everything! I changed the settings according to the document but it’s dark now and I’m worn out from fighting with the HID’s today. Hopefully when I fire it up tomorrow the drl’s work now too!

Update, my drl’s are working after following the steps in the link I posted earlier. I also have swapped factory quads to factory projectors using a conversion harness and they work.

Update from me as well: they work now I did the same as above and works great. Did not know the truck doesn’t have the dedicated circuit.
