I was hoping you guys could critique my initial setup on my DSP. The software may be different than yours but the concept is the same. Any opinions are much appreciated, especially the crossovers. This would be my "initial" light it up configuration. I am hoping this keeps me safe from burning anything up. If you see something out of whack, please let me know.

This is the input screen. I will only be using my front left and right channel from my stock HU (RA3/8.4a);

This is the output screen, not much to say here but I included it just in case;

This is the routing;

These are the crossovers. I am currently configured at a BW 48db on everything, beginning and end. This will change but if you have any opinions with a better starting point please let me know;

The curve on the left is the JL 10W0V3-4 Sub
The curve in the middle is the Focal 165AS Woofer
The curve on the right is the Focal TN43 Tweeter

These are the frequency response charts for my mid and tweeter. The top being the tweeter.

I appreciate any guidance you can give me.

No criticism here, just a question. Is it mandatory to connect them L mid, R mid, L mid, R tweet, OR is it up the user what channel a component is connected? Is there a right and wrong way, or most used kinda way?

Looks like a good start, don't think u will be frying speakers.

Only thing... It's been a Long day so I may have diarrhea of the brain .... But shouldn't the left side have a Greater delay that the right? Instead of visa versa. I see the distance ce is longer on the right side, so shouldn't it delay less?

Or am I just bass ackwards?

I questioned the same thing, it's a little odd IMO. They could be doing something behind the scenes? or it could be a bug in the software. When I get it installed it should tell the story quickly.

You can actually connect them any way you want as long as that channel plays full range. Like my 88r abcdef channels are full range but my g and h channels are only sub frequncies so it depends.

Davidram, those "Labels" you see were entered by me. When you play with the software you will see that you can rename them. I labelled them to how I understand, others may like abcd, 1234, etc.

Cool, I like how you labeled them. :) Just wasn't sure if there was set sequence or not...

Be nice if the tweeter played a little lower could help bring the sound stage up/open and take less of the mid.

I really must consider re-labelling. LOL

I am hoping for this Saturday. The DSP is supposed to be here tomorrow and the wife and kids are already scheduled to be out for the entire day Saturday as luck would have it.

lizardking, stop! ;) I've been eyeing David's recent tweeter purchase and the audio **** thread, I want, I want! Ugh, my budget SQ build thread should be renamed, it ain't budget friendly no more!

^^^ Uh oh... Well, at least you had good intentions with the "budget" build! :favorites13:

Honestly, I did not procrastinate so you would get your DSP first and have all day Saturday to install it, so that I could learn from YOU! ;)

I went to Best Buy and picked up this little thang. But I did do my homework first, I stood there downloading Adobe, and the Deq-8 program to make sure it will work well!

Check out the pics, that's the Best Buy display! I played with it a bit, works fine and it isn't to small to comfortably see and use the screen. Like troutspinner said, it is a nice quality and capable little gadget, especially for the price.

Oh, and they price matched the rebate but not with out a little discussion... ;) Actually, it was REALLY hard to find this $50 discount promo on Dell's website from one of Best Buys computers, intentional?

That's awesome! That's the only thing with the helix software is that it's not full screen and you can't enlarge it. I have an 11" Asus transformer so probably 8" effectively. So much better than having to lug a laptop in the truck

Exactly how I felt. Except I have a 15" screen on my laptop so it's like lugging a suitcase out to my truck.

With your attention to detail, I am fairly certain you'll be doing this mod, too. (Or at least I hope you do so you can give me some ideas on how to build it into my console, lol ;))
