Bought my wife a 2016 Durango Citadel, 5.7 Hemi, 8sp, AWD. We absolutely love it. We drove both the Durango and the GC, and the GC has a tougher ride for her, and no third row. With the Third row up you have good cargo room, but with it down, you put mobsters to shame.

It rides smooth and the 5.7 has tons of power for the size and weight of the Durango. Can’t wait to see what the 6.4 SRT is like. We bought it end of May 17, and it had 21k on it already. I put a catch can on it right away and run 5-30 oil. I’ve had zero problems and zero complaints.

The interior is holding up just fine, and I have 5 kids all from 3-13, so they would destroy it if it was not sturdy enough.

Gas mileage is surprising for the Hemi, this last trip to Colorado Springs and back we averaged 25.7, and that was going 5 over the speed limit most of the time. 887 miles round trip. Around town she averages 19 ish, worse when I drive it!

It’s the Citadel, top model, like a Laramie, only thing better than this is the SRT IMHO

I shopped the suv market a bit for my wife recently too

The Jeep GC is nice but she wanted bigger
I was excited to put her into an RT Durango so that I’d enjoy driving her car around. I liked everything about it.

She ended up getting her moms Mazda CX-9 instead, but I’m pretty sure that she’s started regretting passing on the Durango recently.

The explorers I looked at were nice but didn’t see the value. Super expensive to get something equipped the way I’d want it

Grand Cherokee is the way to go.

My wife also wants to upgrade her 2014 Explorer limited to a Durango, Several people at my workplace have them (company lease cars), and have continued to lease them every year because they liked them so much, the extra room over a grand cherokee is a great option. I have not heard of any major issues that came up from my coworkers (dozens of people). The only complaint was one co-working entering a small parking garage opening which broke off the satellite radio antenna. :)

If i was to ever not want or need a ram, i would get a durango.

I really like the look of the 2018 Durango R/T's. If i had a trailer and a place to store a trailer I could easily have a Durango or even Grand Cherokee instead of a truck
