Only 5,000 miles on my 33” DuraTracs on my 2018 2500 CCLB.

This is the second time getting a flat tire on a fire road. Not driving slow but not driving crazy either. PSI 60 - 65. Last time tire was repairable. This time...not so much. A rock punctured between the treads.

Is this bad luck or did I pick the wrong tires?

I'm a bit surprised an 8ply punctured that easy.
A lot of guys around my area like Duratracs and we are about 50% gravel roads.

Well shoot. Maybe I’ll chalk this up as bad luck. Thanks for the response.

Check the Power Wagon forums. Many of us had the same thing happen with the duratrash. I had a rock puncture between the tread “in the fish scales” while driving like a grandpa on a dirt mountain road. These tires cannot be trusted on a 3/4 ton truck.

Maybe they are made cheaper for OEMs?
My uncle runs them on his 1 ton Powerstroke farm/logging truck and plans to get another set when these are shot.

I've never had them personally.
I was going to get a set for my Laramie but opted for a 10ply set of Trailhogs instead cause they were nearly half the price.

That tread looks similar to my Nitto Trail Grapplers. Have to used them offroad yet??

I ran a set on my truck, I had to do a couple of quick repairs in the desert, due to sharp rocks getting between the treads.

A sharp stone that can cut through the tire (in a channel) is very likely to cut through any tire (in a channel). One thing that makes that kind of problem greater is when the tires are wet.

Any other recommendations for an all-terrain summer tire that can handle the weight of the Cummins?

I here you with the tread wear. DuraTracs lasted a long time on my Tundra. I can already tell mine are wearing quicker.

Any all terrain E or F rated should handle the weight of the Cummins. Duracraps just happen to be chitty tires with ***** sidewalls.

I know from personal experience that BFG KO2s work great and last a long time.
A bit noisy though, but then most ATs are.

Actually I thought they looked like Duratracs! LOL..
They are awesome in mud and snow.
They pick up a little more gravel than I'd like but after 5,000 miles they still look new.
10plys definitely ride stiffer though!

Nitto Ridge Grapplers had a set on my last 2500 best tire i have had so far compared to multiple ats and mts I've had throughout the years. Plan on a set for the new 1500 sooner than later.
