Why did you take the muffler out?

Thats the forward resonator! I'm leaning real hard towards the 4 ft section at summit. I'll need a few overlap band clamps as well. Right now I'm waiting for the second e-cut out to get here. The first one was damaged,

Second cut-out is on the way. It's coming ground, I tried to get 3 day air, no such luck. In the mean time I picked up a 4ft section of 16 ga. tubing. and a few lap band joints. I'm gonna notch the ends too allow for proper sealing. My dad use to hack saw a cut into the ends. to ensure crimpage. But I'm thinking a notch would serve just as well. On second thought I would use this technique on a typical exhaust clamp. With band clamps The clamp is doing all the work imo. I'm also gonna try too keep the cut out close to the muffler to allow for excess drone if any.And to keep the exhaust fumes farthest away from me. :)

i had mine welded on, but i went ahead and told him to weld on a pipe to kinda direct the air away from the cab. could maybe do something like that. only time i can smell exhaust is when my sliding window is open.

Good ole exhaust smell, nothing beats it. Rocket where did you order the clamps from? Some places also have a sealer to go with them to help seal the whole thing to prevent exhaust leaks.

No. just a dab of thread locker that I noticed thats all. On dry fits it looked like a complete seal. Summit racing products has em for 8.95 apiece s/s. mlk - 33272. and the butt band clamps are wlk-33278. for 7.95.

Well while the replacement is on the way, I can prep the remaining pipe. I'm wondering where to install th cut out. At the ypipe, or down a bit before the muffler. Hmmm, Does it make a difference, Besides sound/drone?

I'd say close to the muffler. Less sound in the cab.

Doesn't make any difference besides the drone in the cab. So put it as far down in the system as you can.

The more pipe you run the exhaust through, the more head pressure it has, the quieter it will be.
