Has anyone tried (reviewed) the projector housings that sell on eBay for roughly 250$? Looks like a valid way to get HIDs for the RAM. I'm always looking for a deal, and as a new RAM owner, these look like a sharp way to dress up the front end.

Cosmetically, yes its a cheap & easy way to dress up the front end. But there are many sub-par headlights on eBay. I had a MISERABLE experience with a set for my Nissan, where the bulb shroud was loose inside the housing when I received them. Once they gave me most of my money back I tore it apart and fixed it. Then I fund out every time I replaced a bulb the whole reflector portion would fall back into the housing, requiring re-seating with the rear gasket. And they WILL NOT aim. The aiming screws literally do nothing.
I recently took one out and put back in the tired old stocker because despite its looks, it worked better. You often get what you pay for.
(In my case, there was no factory option for painted heads)
Buyer beware.

I not I am incredibly biased.......but there is no way I'd run them on my truck (knowing what I know now!)

Yeah, I had a set on my 08. Ahhh......a simpler time when I didn't realize that the output from them truly was ****. $250 is a hard bargain to pass up on lights, but in the end, you'll get what you pay for.

I not I am...? Sounds like John Kerry on Iraq. :025:

I ASSUME you meant you know you're incredibly biased...

Just could not resist poking the man who causes me so much angst and torment with his shiny metal (headlights and dips) offerings that I haven't figured out how to afford yet.

Cheers!

Oh no! Not the Ban-hammer..........:signs6:

I have them, they look cool on the truck but the HIDs arent very good, aiming them is a nightmare and they arent much brighter than stock. They are indeed brighter than factory lights but not nearly even close to as good as what I am seeing guys get from RetroShop. At the end of the day it really depends what you want to get. Retro lights are considerably more expensive but will get you great output and are extremely high quality. Ebay lights will work, are cheaper, brighter than say silverstar ultra bulbs etc by a decent amount, and they look pretty cool. They will however require several attempts to get the aiming right (if you can even get them right, im still trying) and arent the greatest quality ever although i havent had any problems with mine.
