So, I do get a "burp" when letting off the gas, and I have Econ turned off, as well as Eco-Mode (aka 4-cylinder) by selecting Gear Limit mode.2023 Ram 1500, 5.7, 4K miles. Coming out of Econ mode I hear and feel a rumble when the 4 cylinders come back on line on acceleration. Dealer says it is normal.
I don't think any 5th gens have a 6 speed? It is more noticeable with the 8 speed trucks. I can't tell when it kicks on in my 2012 1500 ( now my son's). If I really pay attention I can tell on my 2021 2500. Now with White Knuckle sliders, it's much more pronounced at lower speeds, say 40mph-ish, but still pretty invisible at highway speeds.
