I am looking to find someone in Edmonton, AB that can flash a ECU for me as the voltage regulator went out on mine. 3 alternators later I found out that the ecu had gone south. Now I do not know how to fix. Replacement ecu will only allow truck to run for a few seconds as it is not flashed to my truck. Dealer wants a arm and a leg plus they say that they need truck to program replacement. I am retired and just do noy have extra money to pay for this. any way to do this without the truck as I just can not afford the towing on top of the cost for flashing.

Have you had your replacement alternators tested? Not uncommon at all to keep getting new/rebuilt bad parts its been a common theme lately especially if its carquest i went threw 4 starters in 2 weeks Ecu failure is very uncommon check all wires ect.
