Hello, I have a 2023 1500 Classic Warlock Quad Cab 4X4 purchased Nov 2023 that now has about 28000 kms with the 3.6 L Pentastar V6 Engine.
I was driving on a very busy section of the 401 near Toronto Canada and the check engine light came on along with the Electronic Throttle Control light. The truck started to accelerate with some heavy pulling (keep in mind I’m going 100+ kph) so I had to control the truck with my break pedal or else crash into a vehicle ahead of me. After I got to my destination the Throttle light stayed off but the check engine light stayed on. I drove it to the nearest dealer, but by being late on a Thursday afternoon and over 5 hours away from home, things weren’t convenient to leave the truck for service.
By the next day both lights were off and my wife and I crossed our fingers and headed for home. About 2 hours into our trek, on the 407, both lights came on again. It started to accelerate and pull ahead at highway speeds. I was able to control it with my breaks and managed to somehow get it to maintain a reasonable speed without touching any of the pedals! Almost as if it was in cruse control.
When I got home later in the afternoon of the Friday, I drove it to the dealer to get a diagnosis. They determined that I needed a new Electronic Accelerator pedal which they could install on Wednesday.
Three days later (the following Saturday) the light went on again but the truck behaved even worse. It starts to lurch then strongly accelerate. Luckily my salesperson was at the dealer and he drove the truck and will get it looked at when service is open on Monday.
Sorry for the length of this post, but are there any other experiences out there or comments regarding my issue?
