My reaction to this "warning" is: Are people THAT out to lunch when they drive?
That said, read your owner's manual. Items that the manufacturers allow you to control are in there and will instruct you.
Otherwise, a tuner may be the answer.
I find this incredible that vehicles compensate for drivers' lack of perspicuity.

I know EVAS has been around for a while, I think Uconnect has supported it since 2018 or so. I've never seen an option for it in the Uconnect settings nor have I ever seen the warning message pop-up. I don't know much about it but I can only guess the emergency vehicles around my area do not upload their presence to the safety cloud. Come to think of it, I've never seen any posting on EVAS before and I've completely forgotten about it.

I doubt many even know it exists.

Some are but I understand the purpose of the EVAS system. Its history is interesting, it was developed by a Stellantis employee who suffered from a hearing impairment. I can relate to that because a medical condition resulted in me losing my right ear hearing and inner ear functions. Two days ago, driving home, I was in the far right lane of a three-lane turning right. An emergency pickup fire vehicle with no roof-mounted light bar came around the traffic lanes to make the same right turn. It was a last-second recognition of the vehicle, the siren was not loud, and even my wife, who has good hearing, didn't hear the siren. Some drivers of emergency vehicles drive unreasonably for the traffic conditions.

What part of extremely loud sirens accompanied by brilliant strobe lights and that train horn honk at intersections, gets lost on folks? Oh! That's right! Many people are staring at their cell phone and have earbuds on! Now THAT's really smart! NOT!
Once again, Darwin was/is correct!

You are drawing some very faulty conclusions. Perhaps in Houston, they have train horns but not here, perhaps in Houston they have large vehicles lit up like Christmas, but not here. Don't assume every part of the nation is equivalent to Huston. Also, in my area, we have all-volunteer fire departments with volunteers that do not have the money or desire to highly mark their personal vehicles and they are difficult to see and hear when a siren speaker is tucked up under the grill.

I live in a part of incorporated Houston... thus our Fire brigade is all volunteer. These guys just LOVE to play with their toys! So, I have never witnessed them using stealth mode to get to an emergency! Sometimes, I wonder if they are just in a hurry to get morning donuts! LOL! ;) Just kidding!

And, yes, I AM doing what all of us do! Relating to my environment! So, it may be faulty in your community, but it certainly isn't here.

Frankly, I'd prefer they be extremely noisy, and the lights be extra brilliant (except where folks might be susceptible to strobe light induced seizures)

One very good way to discipline one's self to pay attention while driving is to do so in a car with a manual transmission and no radio. But, THAT's not going to happen! Peace!

Yes, and have been for decades.

Add in cars are much more soundproof than they used to be and sirens are pretty ineffective at interstate speeds until you're right on the bumper and you're much more reliant on lights getting drivers' attention.

Early in my career I heard a tip to turn your spot light on as well as your overheads so that you had 3 layers of lights (wig-wag headlights being the third). The spot light is mirror level for many cars. At night I'll wave it back and forth across cars and overhead interstate signs to get more attention. I rely on that even more now that I'm in a slick top.

Finally, the faster you're moving the more people's eyes are drawn to you. We're predators and prey, so we're hardwired to notice motion and the faster the more noticeable.

Update: I was running errands just a few minutes ago. And, wouldn't you know it!? An ambulance for Cy-Fair part of NW Houston came up from behind, lights strobing, and the sirens on full blast! I spotted the lights from about a mile behind me, but, even though I have profound hearing loss (too many AC/DC concerts :)) the sirens were ear-splitting!

Wifey is having some body work done on her Cherokee. She rented a compass. There is a sticker that says to check rear seat for children. Simply amazing the warnings that are required these days.

A lot of rental cars I've had display that message when you shut it off and open the driver's door. I've yet to find anyone's children back there. Yet.

My daughter is going to turn 47 in a few days.... I was very proactive in her upbringing as a tiny tot. This was in the '70s. I NEVER EVER "forgot" her in a locked, hot as an oven car! NOT even close!
I didn't need to put my shoes back there, I did not have a cell phone to put back there with her (She would have called China! ;) )...

Although EXTREMELY tragic to lose a child that way, I cannot fathom being THAT far out in space about my immediate surroundings as for that to even be a remote possibility!

Fortunately, she just loved to sing and chatter incessantly, so there's that! But many's the time she fell totally to sleep in her child carrier. Nope! Never failed to grab the wee one when we reached our destination!

I remember when I first caught the truck I was able to turn off the notifications of red light cameras up ahead, for the life of me I can't even find out how I even did that. Lol. I'll keep searching tomorrow to see if I can find out where this emergency vehicle warning is that and hopefully be able to uncheck it. Thank you all

I've read about a fix for this notification on a couple of other forums.

Apparently, jscan or Tazer has a tweak.

I found the following post elsewhere;
Disabling Travel Alerts with either a Tazer JL or with JSCAN will stop alerts.

With JSCAN:

Disable Travel Link:

ADAPTATION
---> Radio user settings --> SDAR Travel Link Feature Present On/Off--> Target Value = Deactivated

With a Tazer JL ....
In radio sub menu, chose disable "TravelLnk” >enable/disable SiriusXM TravelLink

.

That doesn’t disable the HAAS Alert system that shows on the radio.
Travel Link is a Sirius feature on UC4 equipped vehicles.
OP has a 2022 with UC5, which uses Ram Connect, so there’s no travel link for his truck, and that setting is not set in the BCM on his truck anyway.

Many many moons ago. Automatic headlights and windshield wipers became the norm.
I thought to myself how lazy and or stupid do I have to be that I can't do that for myself.
Hmmm. Tesla answered my question. Lol

I believe automatic wipers are quite functional.

They reduce the task loading for many drivers who are likely challenged to walk and chew gum let alone pilot a motor vehicle in less than ideal conditions.

My buddy is a MD State Trooper... He made a traffic stop on Interstate 270 in the early morning (dark) a few years ago... relatively straight, flat highway with 4 lanes each direction. Some idiot plowed into his cruiser (Tahoe) even with the red and blue LEDs fully lit up.

It's taken him over 2 years to get back to work.
The driver? He got a traffic ticket... no charges.

This is what's wrong with society right now.

Sorta related?

I've had my 2019 since new and recently on the highway got a "disabled vehicle ahead" warning on my radio display? Never seen that before or since, there never was a vehicle ahead. When I got home I checked my phone and no nav apps were running in the background??
