Emission readiness/ key fob won’t start truck in the morning

Both My key fob ( new batteries) will lock and unlock truck, when starting in the morning they will not start the truck ( get wrong fob message) will start after a few minutes of turning them on and off Then will start fine the rest of the day. My truck now won’t pass emissions (Readiness Fail ) drove across the state and still not ready. Took It to dealership they were unhelpful. Said maybe key fob but can’t get one until February.
I feel like my truck is resetting over night. What is going on overnight ?

2014 ram 1500

Something is a miss that you're not telling us. Readiness fail means your CEL has been tripped within the last 50 key cycles. What was the last set of codes you popped? Any throttle manipulators?

Emissions readiness usually indicates that there was a code(s) cleared recently and the trucks monitor's are not reset yet which means they were cleared recently. Was any type of scan tool hooked to the truck recently? If you want help then I'd suggest telling us what's going on. There are several people here willing to help but we need ALL of the story to do so

I’m not missing anything the truck is stock nothing has been altered. I describe the problem. I’ve taken to the dealer ship they couldn’t fix the problem or tell what the problem was with the start up in the morning or the emissions readiness. The dealership said the two problem maybe linked and it “ could be the key fob but we can’t order one until February “ I feel like the truck is reset it’s self overnight” ‍

There should be security key programmers in your area.....dealer not necessary for this.
I can program also with Smartbox auto
OEM will last longer from Rockauto

I’m guessing they can’t get them until February because of the plannedemic and chip shortages. Thanks I guess I’ll try the fob but it’s seems weird that the work fine on the door locks and though out the day on starting the truck. Just have a problem on the 1st start of the day

I got u this morning got the truck started after a few minutes of trying drove it 84 miles stop to retest the emissions and passed. I sure it will reset overnight but at least I have a year to figure it out now.

drive to your local Autozone, Pep Boys, Advance, etc. Auto parts store & ask them if the will will scan your truck for faults

Then go to the locksmith mentioned above or if you have a ACE HARDWARE in your area, most stores sell FOBs & can program them to work

IF first thing in the morning or at any other time, you have to turn the ignition more than twice.

You are going to need an Ignition, also called a WIN Module or WIN Node & it will need programming

Shop around for best prices, you will need new FOBs too

Many threads on this forum about older Rams having key fob issues. I have the push button start on my 14 Longhorn and have sporadic issues all time. Right now my remote start refuses to work, but the lock / unlock buttons work 100 yards away. I’ve about decided Ram is using tactics like Apple, where they program in faults to occur in hopes you will buy a new truck eventually.

I am petty sure that the push button start, is also called Enter & Go or Keyless Entry

You still need the Ignition switch
The RKE FOB that stays in your pocket
Then i believe that on the rear wall of the cab, there is a RF Hub

That RKE FOB still needs cleaning
