Hi y’all

I have a questions about my 1991 d250 5.2L V 8 RWD. We removed the exhaust system the other day. I noticed a small pipe was broken of I think from the catalyst. I followed the pipe back and it stoped at the engine and was some sort plugged off.
Does anyone of your guys have idea if that was done by the manufacturer or someone plug it off and what is it for?

Thanks
Joe

It was to recycle engine gases through the Catalytic converter. Part of the dreaded smog control system. Most people do the same thing that they did to yours. I have never known anyone to have issues after plugging it off.
