28ft camper weighing around 6,800lbs an maybe a sloping hill that's 10yds long that ends with a more "lleveled" area about 20ft long. Over all from street to house it's 25 + or- yds. 3/4 of the spot is covered in 57 rock an I have to lock it into 4 low to back it up the hill to keep from spinning the tires 3ae36140dc930417920760c56a1a4f13.jpg

So you are saying your truck overheats backing your camper up your short driveway?! I tow a 28’/8000lb camper up loooooong hills wide open at 4-5000 rpm for minutes at at time. My trans has never once been over the 170’s that I have seen. Motor is always hot, but thats normal.

You guys complaining about electric fan noise should be the first in line at Tesla’s launch *****

boo hoo my heavy duty towing vehicle is being too proactive controlling its mechanical temperatures!

I dont believe its the electric fan we are complaining about. I think its the mechanical one with the clutch not freeing up when it should be.

And it is extremely annoying. Sounds like a plane taking off when just going 5-10 mph.

oleylr : Thanks for the Info. There were no Power wagons in my Area. When I placed the Order for mine. The Dealer had Ordered a Couple of them. To put out on the lot .Neither had showed up. At that time. Neither was close to what I was looking for. None of the other local Dealers have any. This is Farm Country. The closest one to even get a look at was in Tulsa. 110 Miles away. My Wife let me know . She was in no mood to Shop around . Starting at 110 Miles away. Hence . The reason. I placed my order. I have yet to pop the hood on any of the new ones, "2005 + models".

I agree, and plan on filing a complaint with RAM if I get any kind of run around about it. Mine didn't do it for the first 1000 miles I owned it, now you literally can't hear the motor, all you hear is a noisy ass fan.

My 2019 Cummins is doing this too. I'm curious to hear if there is any definitive solution...

Mine goes in tomorrow, wish me luck! Other than the fan I love the truck, but its almost a deal breaker the way it is now.

So they're ordering me a new fan clutch. The tech even said "I don't know you've even been driving this thing"

OMG....got my truck in today and they swapped out the fan. What a difference. So much quieter, and feels like it has another 50 horsepower. I should say, now it feels like it has 410 horsepower. It felt gutless and loud before. Very happy now.

Hey man I know it’s been awhile but did your new fan clutch ever fail. I’ve got a 2022 doing the same thing

2018 3500, only 35k miles fan does it all the time if the outsude air temp is above 57 degrees. Dealer of course says normal. Owned a 2016 3500, and a 2010 powerwagon. Have friends with 2018 2500 and a 2018 3500, theirs DOES NOT have rhe same issue.
