I know that this is the Ram Forum, and that there is a V6 subforum...however, this is where I hang out, and I have total confidence in the oil gurus that also hang out on here. So, to my question: I am seriously considering purchasing a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland that comes with the 3.6l Pentastar V6. The recommended oil is 0w-20, which I don't think much of. A while back the recommended oil for the Pentastar V6 was 5w-30, which I like the idea of a lot more, and I doubt that the engine has changed much, if any. I will be doing my own oil changes, and will use a synthetic oil filter such as a Fram Endurance or something similar, and more than likely Mobil1 5w-30. We know that the 0w-20 oil is recommended for CAFE, NOT engine longevity. Other than a potential warranty issue, can anyone see a reason not to use 5w-30 in the Pentastar V6? I keep my vehicles for a very long time.
