1995 Ram 3.7 5-speed 245,000 miles Have owned since new, driven weekly. Today it quit cold in the driveway after driving 100 yards. Gotta be fuel or spark. Cranks strong. Service manual no help. Let it cool off but still wouldn't go so probably not the spark coil device, whatever they call them now. Would appreciate ideas on how to run down the problem. This old truck had a spark coil go out at 160,000 miles; this was only dead cold stop it ever had. Thanks in advance for your help. Jim

Crawled under tank with with a length of hose. Could not hear anything going on in tank listening thru hose with key on. No ticking. Should I test for spark before dropping fuel tank? Fuel module has never been replaced in this truck in 27 years. Thanks for help. Hope to get more. Jim

It's always best to start with the easiest thing. Check for spark first.
Pop the distributor cap off and look for any damage to the rotor or contacts.
If you have spark pour an ounce or two of fuel in the throttle body and see if it will start. It may only run for a few seconds but you'll know you have a fuel issue whether relay or pump.

You should test for fuel pressure before dropping tank.
Test for spark at the same time too.
If no fuel pressure, test for voltage before dropping tsnk.

The fuel pump only runs for a few seconds when the key is turned to run,it then recognizes pressure and turns off again. You will need a second person to help with this test.

Troubleshot for spark, as truck stopped dead...seemed like electrical. Bad coil. Cheap fix but plenty of aggravation.
Thanks to all who posted suggestions. Jim
