Ive been having some trouble with my truck starting over the last few months. When I hop in the drivers seat and immediately try to turn the engine on, it turns strong, but doesnt catch (engine seems to not be getting any fuel). However, if i turn the ignition to the on position, without starting the engine for 2-3 seconds, then try to turn the engine over, it starts immediately. Is there some kind of check valve in the fuel line that might be bad?

I always turn the fob one click, wait a couple seconds, then start it ... Always have ... Just gives the fuel pump a few seconds to get stuff where it needs to be

Its a 1 year old battery. Im concerned about this because its never acted this way since I bought it new in 2014. Leads me to believe something may be going bad. Is there a check valve or something common (hopefully easy/inexpensive) to repair?

I think there is a check valve in the fuel system and it may be leaking fuel back to the tank after sitting a while. If you turn the ignition on and wait the pump has time to run fuel back up to the injectors and I would do this to save on the starter. I do not know where the valve is but most likely in the tank making a repair costly.
