I have a 2009 Ram 1500 and when starting the truck today the ESP BAS light came on. I drove down a muddy road last night while heading to go hunting, and I thought a sensor or something might have got dirty, so I thoroughly rinsed off the undercarriage including the brakes...didn't help. Also, my tuner doesn't recognize this as a trouble code, so I can't clear it. I did a search on here, but it didn't do much for me. And ideas on how to clear/fix this issue? Sensor? Thanks!

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to clear the code.

Some codes are momentary and may take 3 key cycles (On/Off, On/Off, On/Off) to clear.

If the codes don't clear after that then disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. This will result in a total power down.

Then re-connect the battery and watch for the CEL. If it lights up again then get the code(s) read. Most auto parts stores will read your PCM for free.

What was the result here? Raining here for the first time in months. Started the truck up and the BAS ESP and Traction Control light were coming on intermittently along with a ding. The traction light would come on first and then the BAS ESP light. Happened intermittently even when not moving or turning the traction control off. After stopping at a store, starting the truck up, they came on steady.
