I have seen several threads about the 7 inch EVIC screen failing by either going blank or flashing. Unfortunately, I have not seen any resolution to the problem.
When this happens, is it the screen itself that is going bad or is it the outboard electronics in the cluster itself that is failing. Or a loose connection? The one thread that had a sort of resolution ruled out a connector. Some have mentioned low battery voltage but mine is fine.
I would appreciate any information on fixing this. I would like to see my trailer brake controller with camping season coming on. The other information would also be handy to have.
TIA for any help.

Just want to follow up with what I found with my cluster.
The backlight on the EVIC is controlled by two transistors on the cluster itself. If your 8.4 radio is dimming properly and not flashing, the dimming control system (LIN) is probably working. I fixed my problem by buying a used cluster on Ebay. It was from a newer Ram with oil life and MPG indicators on the left edge. I used Alfaobd to reset the odometer and engine hours on the cluster. Everything works great including the two new gauges.
Thanks to jeffescortlx on Youtube who actually returned one to at least be usable. The video is older but it popped up with an update from him this last week and has some great information about LED backlight system that is the problem with the flashing EVICS a lot of Ram users have had.
