Hey everyone,

New to the forum, I am active military and currently serving in Kuwait. My wife just surprised me and purchased the 2011 1500 Laramie I have wanted. I have been looking at the 40 Series Delta Flow mufflers from Flowmaster. Not wanting to change out the whole system just the mufflers.

So my question is what are the spec on the mufflers? Inlet and outlet size and such. I wont be home for a month but I wanted to go ahead and get these ordered and have them waiting for me when I get there :)

thanks for any help!

Might be going for the sound and not performance side. Whats your plans for it when you get home?

Flowmaster are restrictive far as flowing CFM but have a good tone, all in what you want, I have delta flow 40 single in dual out on my truck but that will change when it rusts out.

Not really any plans as of yet. Especially while under warranty, just looking for a good deep rumble more than anything haha

Future plans, maybe a lift, not really sure. Never had a truck before haha

Are you planning on welding in a new muffler or slip and clamp one?

When ya get home check with a local exhaust shop, most of them will have that muffler on hand or they can get it for you. The Summit chambered mufflers also put out the same sound and tone as the DF40.

I would go with the Mufflex kit myself, then pick your size of muffler. They use Magnaflow mufflers in the following sizes - 24, 18, 14 and delete pipe. The delete pipe kicked ass (I ran it for a while!).

The mufflex kits takes the muffler and has mandrel bent pipes welded to it, for the exact replacement of the stock muffler. You can do it in your driveway in under an hour, with some WD-40 and a socket set. :D Its EASY.

If you get any other muffler you are going to have to get pipes bent for it, or welded in, etc - and to me.........just not worth it.

The stock exhaust is 3" in, and I believe its 2 1/4 duals out. I know at the flange where the tips are clamped on its 2.5", but I believe the pipe itself is 2 1/4.

At any rate, welcome to RF! Stay safe over there!

I haven't. BUT, I bet there is a buttload on youtube on 'em.

Here's the delete pipe (my truck, at one point in time)

Do yourself a favor and skip the flowmaster.

I know they sound good, but after you've "been around" for a while you'll come to regret it. They're performance killers. There are lots of good muffler choices. Look into a magnaflow.

You know which exhaust I havent seen mentioned on this site or maybe I have overlooked it...Gibson...they are pricey as hell, but once they are broke in they sound sooooo mean...especially the Super Truck systems....
