Do you guys run your exhaust brake all the time, even in city driving? What are the advantages and disadvantages. Thanks.

All the time. Running the eb keeps the veins in the VGT moving and helps them from getting clogged with soot causing premature failure.

I leave mine on all the time. I wish there were a way to program the computer to make the default "ON" instead of me having to punch the button every time.

I run mine on all the time. The truck was programmed with EFI Live tunes so through the Edge CTS we set to be on at startup.

For me the advantages are:

1. Cooler brakes.

2. Extended brake life.

3. Downhill speed hold in tow/haul mode & cruise control on.

4. It sounds cool. :)

I'm really liking the automatic exhaust brake. It lets you coast when you want to just let off the accelerator with no braking at all, but its there if you need it if you just tap the brakes. This mode has to be a bit better for fuel mileage than the always on EB.

Yes: I run with it on all the time. (Unless I forget in town)
Highway/Interstate I always push the button once.

For normal commuter driving, any mileage difference noticed between on and off?

I haven't noticed a difference although I haven't been paying real close attention to that. I think you would have to assume there would theoretically be a small difference even if it was barely measurable. If it is slowing you down in places where you would normally just coast without applying brakes then that is energy lost that has to be made up by using the pedal on the right.
