So ive had a aftermarket muffler for a while and I just found a exhaust leak from the 3 inch pipe to the muffler their is a a big gap where the clamp is and I don’t have anyone to weld it so I’m looking for a alternative solution. I was thinking about a exhaust tape to wrap it to where it connects to the muffler and a bigger clamp would this buy me time until I’m able to get someone to weld it?

yes it would be fine as a temporary solution. I have used exhaust clamps like in your first pic to join 2 pipes together. it came loose once and I tightened it back up and it never came apart after that.

1st pic is the style used for stainless exhausts. Those clamps work.
