sounds mean as hell...so you lease your trucks? i know your last one was nice....
Yeah, I lease. I like a new vehicle every 2-3 years and I don't drive enough to worry about miles. (6K/year).
Here's the fun part - my 08 I leased. $350 a month. So I paid ~ $8400 for 2 years to drive it. When I went to return it..........we ended up "buying" it and then trading it in. I got $4,000 more than the "payoff" for the truck, which went towards my new truck. So, I paid $4,400 to drive my 08 for 2 years. I can't complain there.
People razz me like mad for modding my leased trucks. You have to be smart about it - I don't get a lot of stuff that I can't just pull off of it when I am done! The only parts that stayed on the 08 when I traded her in - mudflaps (cuz they went through the paint.....and I didn't want them seeing that!), exhaust (it was welded on, and wasn't worth the time or $$ to take off), level kit (I paid $60 for it - definitely not worth my time to remove it) and my steps. We worked the deal without the steps - then they offered me another $500 for the truck with the steps. Duh....I won't get that for them (and I only paid 300 for them brand new). All the rest of the stuff I sold in the classifieds. Yeah, I didn't get what I paid for it - but thats life. I enjoyed the parts for the time I had them.
Biggest thing that got me - when a person who gets a new truck every 3 years starts getting on my case. And then you read their threads about what they got for their truck on trade.......and they leave a good chunk of the mods on it. Whatever.
bottom line - its my damn money. spend yours the way you want, I will too.
