Exhaust options

Since getting thus 2021 1500 Crew cab, I've been researching exhaust systems. I'm down to Carven, MGRP, and B2 Fabrucation. Had Flowmaster 40 series on my 2015. Any suggestions on these 3? Thanks.

I had the Carven on my 2018 1500 and I liked the sound it had.

Out of those 3 I like the MBRP. It is a very personal preference though. People like different tones and decibel levels. Also some are more sensitive to drone than others. If you would like a quote on anything please feel free to message me.

I had both MBRP and Carven Progressive. Personally, I preferred the Carven Progressive with their 5" tips. No drone, nice and deep, not loud just cruising, but pretty loud when getting on it.

Just to add, one thing I can't stand is a raspy exhaust. The MBRP had a bit of rasp to it. Which was the main reason I sold it and got the Carven.

Also another reason I haven't put anything on my 6.4 2500. Every muffler/catback system I've heard on YT sounds raspy AF on the 6.4. Thinking it's the restriction in the "Y" pipe that causes it.

I've got carven on my supercharged 22. After about 2 years, it's starting to be an annoying system. It's loud AF. And cause I'm in a RCSB, it's close to the cab. I'm evaluating Flowmaster outlaws and other round bullet type mufflers to replace the carven product. It's not a bad product, I think my ears are starting to convince me I'm over 50.

Not killing the muffler. I don't want screaming loud. Just a nice rumble. These 3 manufacturers are on my list. Haven't heard of them so why I was asking. Thanks.

I'm running a custom made y-pipe to a Magnaflow catback system with their 14" muffler, to a set of 5" tips.
Really nice deep sound at idle, and at WOT it's really bassy.
It doesn't sound raspy and doesn't scream either.

OP has a 1500 with 5.7, while they are both Hemi's they do have a bit of a different sound and exhaust configuration. The 6.4 in 2500/3500 is much more raspy than the 5.7 1500's

I'm talking about the two 1500's with 5.7's I've owned. I don't have an aftermarket exhaust on my 2500 since they all sound terrible.

I can assure you not ALL aftermarket exhaust systems sound terrible - Borla S-Type Series Cat-Back Exhaust

Do what makes you happy. Just a recommendation. It is not screaming loud without the muffler as long as you KEEP the resonators.

Sounds like a wet fart at upper RPM's. Way too raspy for my liking.

I put a Magnaflow 4 inch system on my Ford 7.3 diesel. I ran it for years and never realized how loud it was until I got a 2022 Ram diesel. I like the quiet and have plenty of power and plan to leave the exhaust system alone this time. Hard to say why so many people throw away their wheels and tires, change the exhaust and lift everything. I like stock trucks.

I like stock also. Years ago when diesel trucks had no emissions, I put tuners and injectors and turbos and transmissions in my cummins powered trucks. It was loads of fun, but I'm older and no longer need any of that. I just want something reliable...sad thing is those trucks I did all that stuff to were way more reliable than the stuff they put out now. Damn emissions crap!!! I like clean air to breathe like anyone does, but I wish they could have a nice compromise on clean air and reliability!!!

Any reason your stuck on those three brands? I like some tone but not annoying and my truck is my DD (i leave early so can't wake the kids). When I had my 2018 laramie 5.7 I did a 18" magnaflow clone muffler swap (too much drone), dynomax ultra catback (loved it but it rusted out), Borla Pro XS muffler swap with additional resonator (still had a smidge of drone but alot less than just the pro XS). Then I went to the JBA SS catback and its got some deep tone but no drone and not overpowering. When the 2018 got totaled I went with the same JBA on my 2024 BTS and love it. Cold start its deep and louder, at idle its slightly louder/deeper than stock and it gets louder the more you get on it but no drone and you can still cruise and talk normally. My buddy at work has a flowmaster chambered catback on his 2018 big horn and it sounds good but its loud in the cab and drones he says. FYI the JBA is full 304SS and It was less than $800, I got mine for like $600 when it was on sale and rebate from summit.

I was looking at the b2 fabrication as well for the 5th gen... I would go with that one of the three you listed but that's based on what I like.

I have a 2020 5.7 engine and I went with the Magnaflow. I liked the nice rumble without being over the top load. The one thing I will warn is you really are not going to gain much performance. You are basically paying $1,200 to sound cool. I also added a CAI and again there was not a noticeable amount of performance gain not increase in fuel economy.

I replaced the muffler with a 22" resonator and kept the rear resonators. Not much louder and get better gas mileage.
