I was wondering the same thing. I was disappointed to discover that RAM discontinued the CD player with the 2020 models.

Yes my 20 has 5 USB ports 3 regular and 2 small ones.
The one on the lower left of the 4 up front works intermittently.

So...have you thought about ripping CD's into the appropriate codec (format) to work on your system via USB stick? It's not hard to do and having 600 - 1000 songs on a USB stick is easily done.

^this... I did that with all my CDs over time, before I started dl'ing MP3s right to a stick.

I was a bit disappointed that the head unit in my '17 wouldn't process one of the lossless codecs, like FLAC, but I guess with all the noise in the cabin I won't be doing any critical listening in the truck anyway.

I just checked and I have 1061 MP3 songs on my USB stick for the truck. I love the convenience of the USB and the ability to put the head unit on "Shuffle" and just have this massive, diverse and long term playlist available to me.

MP3 and a usb stick would be cool if I had a computer. But between my iPad and android phone thats not really possible. Hell I had all sorts of music on my iPhone but can't use that on a Droid. Switched to Droid so I could use alphaobd then traded my gen4 for a gen5 I can still use the alphaobd on the gen5 but that's down the road.
All the music apps for droid cost quite a bit and don't really want to go that route either.
So I suppose sxm is the only way

See what SXM is actually going to cost you. Maybe it's worth that money to buy a cheap PC laptop and not have the SXM customer dis-service aggravation...

I test drove a 2019 a few weekends ago 2500 limited and it had the OEM CD player in the cubby hole on the left below the radio.

I just bought a 2020 2500 limited and it has the cubby is there an Alfa obd add for the CD player?

Yes there is an option to turn on the CD player with the Alfa. Its called the EDM (External Disc Module)
