At least the guy was smart enough to know he wasn't qualified and didn't just attack your paint.

This is true.

Then I go back to my point above...not a detailer by my definition of a detailer. A true detailer will say "There is a technique that can correct that" or "Other than repaint, there is not a technique to correct that".

this is wild how much crap you have gone through,
at my work when we have paint issues we take pictures, contact the DPSM schedule the customer to drop the vehicle off when the DPSM is in town. he inspects and tests the paint to be sure its the original finish. and then allows us to send it to a professional body shop to correct the paint issue.
now if it is overspray on top of your paint caused by the truck sitting on the lot close to where the hack job painters are touching up used cars, that is the dealers responsibility to correct that in house, or sending out to be fixed with them paying for it not Chrysler

^This.

I had paint bubbling on my driver's fender and a defective steering column shaft. My dealer ordered the steering shaft and was able to get Chrysler to inspect the paint while he had the truck for that job. They approved the paint fix, so they left me in a rental car another day and just had it fixed. No big deal. My truck is good as new again.

The local Chrysler representative was mentioned once but to my knowledge has never looked at my truck. The crap in my paint is in the clear, the paint itself is very smooth. It has been clay bared at least 4 times now, I've tried using my fingernail to see if I could feel the bumps and I couldn't.

It may be too bad for a detailer to fix it. Chrysler has to send a rep to see it so they can approve a body shop/paint shop to fix it. They'll probably sand it down and re-clear the truck. Stay after the dealer. I found that I got better service by working thru the salesperson that sold me the truck. I let sales set up my service appointments.

Got a call from the dealership, apparently the digital imaging dept at Chrysler can't see the defect in the pictures that the dealer sent them so they won't do anything. The dealer said he was trying to help me out but there isn't anything else he can do.

Damn. Rough go for you. I have a minor flaw at the bottom of my passenger doors. Little bit of crud under the paint. Like sand or small pebbles, just 2 of them. Took to my dealer, dennis dillon and they sent me to one of their gmc dealers (where their body shop is who wrote up a quote for $350) and it is supposed to be being approved by chrysler and then it should be fixed. I just got the quote on Friday and they said it would be a few days so I will follow up tomorrow. Hopefully not near the cluster **** you're going through.

Wow that sucks pictures on the black trucks are hard to capture. Is there any way a rep can come look at it in person or you can take it somewhere for a chrysler approved rep can look at it? What sucks is they already tried to fix it and made it harder to tell what's going on.... SMH.

The problem areas are still very much visable tp the eye. I asked about the local chrysler rep, waiting on a call back.

That's gotta be BS. They took pics of mine, but the rep had to come anyway before they authorized the paint work.

I had a piece of dirt under the clear coat on mine. It's at the dealer now to be repaired!

What's sh!tty is he admitted that he has defected cars on the lot right now with the same issue and I guarantee they sell them off without fixing them.

Saga continues. I have gotten called by everyone but my case manager I keep getting called saying he is out or is working on it. Just got a call from another customer service rep who tells me he has spoken to the service manager and the area manager for me and the next step will be wet sanding and buffing. Then he says it will not be covered under warranty and he's not sure if they are going to do it out of good faith or if I'll be responsible for the cost. I said what the hell do you mean my warranty won't cover it?!?!?!? He sad because they inspected it and the issues weren't there before I bought it. I sad the hell they weren't I bought it on a Friday night and had it back in the dealership Monday morning after discovering the issues while washing and waxing.

I've been patient up to the point now I'm about to lose my ****. I am talking with a lawyer on base about filing for the lemon law. My situation falls into the guide lines all except for the fact that the dealership did not generate an RO for my truck for all the times they had it. Convienetly the paid the body shop out of there own pockets and /or he didn't charge them so there is no paper trail. The lawyer called the dealership and the sales manager even lied to him saying they had only worked on my truck twice!!!!!!

they did the wet sand and buff on mine, but the bubbling came back in a week. they took it back in and put a new fender on under warrantee. Rented me a car while they had it too. Hope you get them to sort this out.
