I tried doing a search to see if anyone had a similar question, but didn't find anything. Could just be that I'm tired and pissed off.
I just drove from Omaha, NE to Las Vegas to purchase a 2017 Ram 2500 Mega Cab. I thought I had asked every question in the book regarding the truck, but still, ran into issues on the way home. Not my actual question, but are all Ram 2500 Mega Cabs lemons? I purchased a 2014 last year and immediately had problems (different problems than this one). Luckily, the dealer last year bought the truck back from me. I am not driving back to Vegas to return this one (if they'd even take it back).
Ok, my real question. Is Ram at all lenient on their 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty?
I purchased the truck yesterday with 3 months and a little less than 1,000 miles factory warranty remaining. When I started having issues in Northeastern Colorado, there wasn't a dealer anywhere near me, and if there was, there weren't any open (middle of the night). Not to mention, I couldn't stop anywhere to stay or I'd have to take 14 days off of work due to the pandemic. We literally drove 18 hours straight there, 18 hours straight home, only stopping for gas to avoid exposures. Long story short, I am now at 37,1xx miles. I did purchase an extended warranty, but I didn't buy the top end warranty, so I doubt all of my issues would be covered. I'm guessing cruise would be fixed, but the other issues won't.
Issues:
Cruise will not stay engaged. It will set and work fine, but randomly it will act like I touched the brake to disengage. I can immediately set it again. Sometimes it will work for 100 miles, and sometimes it will stop working 6 times in a row immediately.
Parking sensors randomly alert that they have been turned off on the dash, when no buttons were pressed. (And they still work)
Cruise control will alert that it is ready to be set, when cruise was off, and without pressing any cruise related buttons.
Service electronic braking system alert came on immediately at start up after getting fuel in North Platte, NE.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
