I apologize if this has been asked, couldn't find a thread on it. 2017 Ram 1500 RCSB, V6, 35200 miles. Today on way home from work Fan speed dropped dramatically on interstate, when on lowest setting it barely blows. Any ideas what can cause this? Good news I have an appointment Friday for an oil change and rotation at dealer, and I should not be over 36k miles. So it should be under warranty, just wondering what it could be. Hopefully it keeps doing this and doesn't "fix" itself so they can see / hear it.

This is a common issues in our truck. It’s the blower motor and resistor.

2017 and older trucks didn’t come with a cabin air filter and the blower motor gets all bugged up. I’ve had the same issue. Did the cabin air filter mod, installed a new blower motor and good as new. It’s an easy quick fix

Which one did you get?

I see people ******** that the cheapo chinese replica ones are really noisy, and the mopar one is really expensive. I also couldn't figure out how to get that end cap off to release the cage, so ended up just blowing it out as best I could (which released a massive black dust cloud) and reinstalling it along with the filter mod.

Always go OEM from dealer for blower motor. You’ll never find an aftermarket one that is good. They are all either really weak pushing out air or noisy.

Sure it sucks paying more ($336 Canadian) to be exact but I’d rather a fully functioning and good blower over a cheap POS that won’t last or even be as good

No solution yet. They couldn't look at it Friday. I have to wait till this Friday. I was told that if I go over the 36k miles, it will not be under warranty (even though they know about the issue prior to and the mileage was below 36k miles when I brought it in originally).
