I know this has been talked about before but can not find the threads !

1: The fan is 2 speed ?

2:What temperature should speed 1 come on ?

3: What temperature should high sped fan come on ?
I know these V6's run hot run hot BUT when I got home today, Let truck idle in my driveway to get temps up. open the hood temps around 215+ NO Fan
Where shoule the transmission and oil temp be compared to coolant temps ?
Temp went to 230* the fan twitched 2 or 3 times then started, BUT IMO does not seem to be really fast ! Anti freeze level OK

Thanks

Pop hood, watch motor and turn on AC full (MAX), fan should come on, if not sensor or something not right

I thought the thermostats were 200-210 for V6.

If running hot, U could consider putting in a 180 degree T-stat... But U R in Maine, and the higher engine temps in winter would be a must.... Hmmmmmm...

All above IMHO, I honestly hate 200 t-stats, prefer 180, but that is a personal preference, and I am a Boird, not a mechanic,. just a saying.

Birdman yea these do run hot ! Just checked w/Reg. AC on after a few seconds fan kicks in, Then Max cool a few seconds then fan So good there ! When I was idling w/o AC on the temps hit close to 230 w/no fan :O then fan kicked it :O.. I would guess w/o AC on the fan should kick in around 200/205 ??? Hope the gearheds chime in. I do not want to waste a trip to the dealer lol Thanks for your help it gave me a few things to check out first :)

Makes me think of the old stuff, way back when. When yer car ran hot, you opened all da winders and turned the HEAT on hi, LOL. Maybe U need to run with AC on all da time so U know dat cooling fan running. I am assuming you have the 800W electric fan, FWIW, 19's got a 850W

ADDED: Hee hee, heard Navy likes all thangs hot, LMAO, sure was hot in GITMO. Sorry RADO, could not help it, LOL

About everything I have read in the last 10 minutes says T-stat opens basically at 209. I have not found ne thing on when fan kicks on. But a lot of folks have gone down to a 180 T-stat putting their running temps in the mid 190's, but U would have to retune a lil with the 180.. Sorry, could not find ne thing on actual fan start
