Looking for feedback on upgrading rotors and pads (calipers too). Looking for those who have seen improvements while towing loads in the mountains?

I have had good experiences in the past with using drilled & slotted rotors, so I am looking for any experiences you may have with ones like that in particular ...

I have been looking at the Power Stop Z36 kit (rotors, pads & Calipers), what feedback does anyone have on them?
I have also been looking at the R1 Concepts 'eline' & 'Geo Carbon' rotors & pads, but would then need to find calipers. Any feedback on them?
And the other one I have looked at is the EBC Sport Rotors and either the greenstuff elite or Xtra-Duty pads, but i am not sure if that would be the right rotors/pads from them. Any one using EBC & have some feedback?
Anyone tried both the PowerStop & the R1s and or the EBC's that can provide any comparisons?
Are there others I should be considering and what feedback do you have about them?

This is on a 2015 2500 6.4l 4x4 and Thank you in advance ...(I realize it is a 3/4 and not a 1 ton. My previous was a 1 ton and I intentionally moved to the 3/4 because I don't have heavy payloads in the bed, but towing trailers in the mtns is hard on brakes ...

i had the ebc xtra duty pads and rotors on my 2000 cummins and they were fantastic. i just ordered the ebc xtra duty pads for my 2014 ram 2500 6.4 hemi but they will not go on until spring so i cannot speak as how they work on this truck . on my car i replaced the power stop pads and drilled and slotted rotors with ebc slotted rotors and green stuff pads on the front and yellow stuff on the rear. took awhile to get them bedded in but boy the stopping power is nothing short of phenomenal compared to the power stop. when i drive my truck now the brakes feel like they are not working at all so that is why the truck is getting ebc brakes. if they stop half as good as the car i will be happy. the xtra duty pads are rated GG

For towing in the mountains a diesel engine with an effective integrated exhaust brake should be the first choice. When relying on braking it is the trailer brakes that should be doing most of the braking and not the tow vehicle's brakes.

With disc brakes I do not worry about the truck brakes. Twenty years ago when some trucks still used drum brakes it was a very different matter.

Those Wildwood calipers are up right there with Brembo as the best, but boy, what a hefty price tag.

I put the power stop kit on my truck and it stops better than any pick up I have owned and that's been quite a few 1/2 to 1 tons. Just be careful to follow the break in procedure to the "T".

With my 6k lb boat back there, I have zero problems stopping in any conditions. (Full disclosure: I do have electric over hydraulic ceramic discs on the tandem boat trailer).

Actually.... the trailer brakes should work in conjunction WITH the tow vehicle brakes to stop the rig. It should never be one or the other. The trailer brakes should be stopping the weight of the trailer while the truck brakes primarily stop the truck (almost as if there was no load behind it).
