After 4 months............I have FINALLY decided on what steps are going to go on the truck. When I took her out for our first date (test drive) she had the Mopar steps on her:

I had them take them off, they wanted $729 for them. It wasn't only the price, I just didn't like the way they looked. They just didn't seem to "fit" with the style of the truck - like the way the ones did on the 3rd Gens.
So.......I started looking around at steps. I really didn't want to put steps on this truck, but - my wife is 5 ft tall........and I have a 5 year old trying to get in and out of the truck (with his backpack) and its just a pain for them. Last week I started taking the kiddo to school (along with my nephew) - and that solidified the fact that I need steps. My nephew is not my kid..........and doesn't understand that I will beat his ass if he ***** up my truck. My son understands this. Lets just say that watching the kid climb into the truck, and almost killing him...........its time. Get some steps.
So what did I decide on? Bestop PowerBoards. Just like the AMP ones, and I get the best of both worlds - I don't see 'em and they do their job and get out of the way when they are done. First time I looked at them (about 3 months ago) they were about $1,300. Fark that. I checked again a month ago........cheapest I could find - $1,150. Still too high. Last week I checked a few places, found one selling 'em for a little under a grand. AND Bestop has a $100 rebate going on now. So, for about 900 I could get the boards.
Hmmmm............so I attempted to pricematch the place to TruckAddOns. They were dillholes about it Friday (didn't call me back, etc). I ended up sending an email to tell them how I felt (around 6PM Friday night) - and their CEO called me about 30 minutes later. Interesting. I called back in today to get the pricematch done, the dude told me that they dropped their price over the weekend, they would sell to me for 900 bucks. AND I get the $100 rebate, so net of 800 bucks. Ok, DONE.
Ordered the steps today. Now, we'll see how long it takes to get 'em. I ordered my 2 bakflips from TruckAddOns too.........they aren't the quickest to get orders out, but prices are good.
Anyway, can't wait to get 'em installed. Lighted, powered and will sit lower than any other step that I could put on my truck. Wife and kiddos should like 'em.
