I guess I'll start this post with a quick intro, I'm a 44yrs old and getting ready to start my retirement leave in 3 working days! 20yrs active duty Navy FTW.
With that said, I just returned from a 6 month deployment and I'm wrapping up my out processing this week! :):) Although I'm not new to the forum, I'm not exactly a frequent poster either.....but I am hoping to change that soon.

Honestly, this last sea tour was so damn busy, everytime I thought I could get a project done either work or duty or another underway would stop me in my tracks! So other than rack up 40k in two years time commuting to and from work, my mods have been very basic in nature.

Soooo..........it looks like I'm finally going to have some time to go ahead and do some long awaited mods to my 2014 RAM Express 8spd.....what can I say....I love this truck!

The funny part is, is that I'm a diehard Chevy fan, have been my whole life, but since about 2007 I just don't like the way the GM trucks look all that much. Not the same for their SUV's though, I like the styling just fine on them......in fact......I own a 2016 Chevy Suburban......Awesome ride!

I'm not exactly new to late model modding but then again its been a while since I've done anything to a newer vehicle (Navy is greedy with their time). In 2005 I built a fairly decent Chevy 2500HD that was a blast and a great learning experience......I'll post a few pics of it from the few that I have left.

Other than that, I'm stoked to dive into this RAM :favorites13: My plans aren't earth shattering by any stretch, in fact there are some VERY impressive builds that are well documented on this forum for which I'm sure I will come nowhere close to replicating........just going to enjoy sharing what projects and progress I make with everyone here.

Lastly, thanks for the knowledge; I've learned alot so far! Great place to learn and share :patriot:

First, thank you for your service. :favorites13:

Once the modding starts, it becomes very addictive. Keep us posted and good luck.

Welcome, congratulations on the milestone, and thank you for your service. You'll find this hands-down to be the best forum for the RAM out there. Lots of great advice and great people who love to learn as well as share their knowledge.

Very nice and clean looking Chevy.

thank you sir!

here's a quick 1/2 - 2/3's throttle blip, artificially low 5800rpm shift point, actual powerband shiftpoint was closer to 6800rpm:

Cool! If I can help with anything, LMK... :favorites13:

yeah man thanks! no doubt I'll cash in on your offer:)

Right now I'm set to do the drop in a week and a half which will include stock powder coated wheels (I hope/depends on being able to find a solid local company) with the tires I posted earlier.

Then I'm going to see how that feels and sort issues as they come up or not.....meaning I don't want to throw money after money. If I can get by with what I have I'd rather do that then buy a part that's marginally better.........at least that's the plan in my head......sometimes the modding bug has a mind of its own:naughty:

I have some ideas if I find the Belltech spring rates to be a little on the soft side........but like I said.......wait and assess.

Once the suspension is sorted, it's time to address my audio situation!

I know you're well versed in both!

Sounds like a great plan!

My 3 favorite things to mod are suspension, engine bay and audio (not necessarily in that order)... ;)

Welcome to the forum nice write up! Oddly I agree with your assessment of the GM SUVs vs the pickups.
