Thats awesome bud, its really nice how these front ends come apart and you can step into the engine bay to work on everything. Are you going to pull the motor and do it on the stand or leave it in the truck? Only reason I ask is I see a new stall is on the list to go in.

motor will be coming out tomorrow. spent a few more hours on it tonight. its ready to pull. probably would have pulled it today but had to change front brakes and rotors on a 06 f150 and had to work on a little 49cc wildfire motorcycle.

and yes, all the room is great. took the efan ,trans cooler, and cross member off and all kinds of room. i also like how easy the fender wells(spelling) come out to. that makes it easier also.

Im very interested in this. When rebuilding an engine, is it kind of like legos?

Easiest thing I have found to do is keep all the body bolts in one tray and all the engine bolts in the other. Im not 100% sure if they use kinda the same setup as the front of the 5.7s but the front cover has all the same head bolts for the most part but 3 of them are odd ball sizes on the 5.7, try to set them in order or just remember where you pulled them from. We also require lots of pics of the motor bud... were pic ****** :hmm:

Depending on the miles on the truck and how the cylinders look I would suggest a hone with new rings and bearings if its on a stand.

64k miles. and i still can see the crosshatches. gonna just go with it. if it blows something in the bottom end, i will probably just do a 408. which i should be doing anyway.lol

^I like the way you think. With 64 yeah your fine esp considering your updating your timing chain and tensioner.
