9 months after burning my rod bearing and 7 months after starting my rebuild project I am finally able to drive my truck again! After my start up I was worried something was wrong mechanically since it wouldn't stay running but after rechecking just about everything the tune got it sorted out and I'm back on the road again.

I never could have done it without the forum and the help that the members are willing to give here each and every day. I wanted to thank everyone who helped on my rebuild and other threads with a special thanks to KGBIGCOUNTRY and charonblk07 who held my hand in the beginning since I couldn't find a book called Hemis for Dummies anywhere. Thanks fellas, much appreciated. :favorites13:

Thanks man. I'll have to be careful cause I've had a few speeding tickets in the past and this new cam is pretty awesome.

So was it the tune?

Yep. None of the first tunes worked. I was sent a couple of tunes with a template fix I but couldn't load them into the Intune. Stu had to go back and start with my original backup, then use the fix, then I was able to put it into the tuner. Now it ildes steadily at 700 rpm in open loop and 500-550 rpm in closed loop and doesn't stall. He'll probably tweak it once more.

All highways have a border to Mexico.. ;)

I'm real curious to see what your truck would run in a 1/4mi I remember a guy on dodgetalk with the same truck as you doing a supercharger. Think he ran 14.8 which isn't bad for that BIG ASS truck an a being a gasser

A road trip then to break in the new engine.:)

Was that with a supercharger only? My butt dyno tells me I'm getting up to 60 mph a lot quicker than before and on the highway I can pass with a lot less effort. I'm glad I went through all the trouble, even with all the mods it ended up costing less than a brand new 5.7L from DC installed at the dealership.

How the HELL are you idling at 500-550??! I dropped mine to 650 with AC off and it stalled twice on me. both times it was a hard dive into the brakes plus turning the wheel, so I think it was prob loss of vacuum.

I think my overlap is slightly more aggressive than yours, but still!!

Seriously, it's only stalled once since installing the last tune and that was on the second day backing out of a parking spot and turning the wheel hard. The previous tune did end up giving me codes for running rich and the throttle response was crazy, I hardly had to touch the pedal and it would take off. This tune seems more mellow but no more stalls. I think I like it at 700 rpms best, maybe Stu can fix that for me.
