lol. the butt-o-meter would be tricked by awsome air sucking sound the CAI make. thanks. i seem to come across some of the cool trucks that are fairly local. the amount of custom work done to that first gen is amazing.

Problem with the stock intake is not that it's drawing hot air, it's restrictive. Besides, I will be making a shroud and scoop for it sometime.

Soooo, here's where I'm at right now. Got most everything ground down except the stud mount because the angle it's at makes it difficult for me to get the Dremel in there without making things even more ugly.

I finally got pissed with my hone hitting the throttle shaft so I tore that sucker out of there after I smoothed down the bumps created by those screws.

And oh yeah, my hone is *****. Damn thing kept walking out when the shaft was in the TB still....so I need a new one, which I was planning on getting tomorrow.....that was shot out of the water, but we'll see. I have the sneaking suspicion I'll need new throttle plates because I know things never cooperate for me. Either way, live and learn.

Besides, it's so much cooler saying that I cut my TB myself rather than having paid a guy to do it for me. :roflsquared:

probably a little late for this, but i found it alot easier to use a flap wheel to do the bores on my tb's.

Eh? Pics or it never happened!

To be honest I've been too busy in the past week to make it over to HF to get a new hone.

So I took my air hat and spacer to work with me this weekend to get the damn thing fitted. And it finally is snapped into place.

So all that's left to do with this is to clean it up, put a ring of RTV around the spacer to seal it up, then mount and start looking at holding the CAI down and making a heat shield.

Yes I know, HOLY OUT OF FOCUS SHOTS BATMAN and there is RTV everywhere but when it cures I'll go through and pick off all the little bits.

I like the idea of using a flap wheel to open up the tb bores and they should work in a drill. Gonna have to keep the tb and the drill dead center to avoid taking to much meat off of one side/area.

Interesting. How much better do you think that would work compared to the hone?

If it where me I would mount the flap wheel in a drillpress and the TB to a piece of wood clamped to the drillpress table to keep it centerd. I might be going overboard here, but an out of round hole might cause trouble down the road.

i would probably used a small rotary file. it would most likely have made short work of boring out the throttle body.

I've got one. Used it on the air horns, but it wouldn't have been smooth at all.
