Just sold my 98 5.9 to get this. Loved that truck and it would haul. First time pulling with this Hemi.Just my two cents, but I would check the air in the tires, check the oil, check the coolant and just go for it. My 98 ram 1500 5.9 is already to go all the time. Just begging to get out and run. bought it as a demonstrator in 2000 and have just 100k on it. Its sole purpose is to pull a camp trailer, and does a great job. may not have all the bells and whistles but works for me....Enjoy....
Why did you change the oil so early?
Some people like to do the first oil change early to get all of the break in metal out of the system.
Before I ever do any longer trips & pulling I always make sure I have good oil in it (which you have already done), make sure I have a good spare tire for the trailer, make sure the trailer bearings have plenty of good grease, & make sure my air filter is clean. Sometimes this time of year they like to suck a lot of salt from the road. Oh I about forgot, I am kind of **** about making sure all of my trailer lights work before I leave.
