Cool. About that accumulation, how many miles and weeks/months to gather
that?

I'm currently just under 5k miles since my last oil change, and I'm gathering the drainage into a 0.5 liter water bottle. It is about 1/3 full, and I need to empty it again.

idk how many miles I wasn’t keeping track. I figure I’ll just check it every couple of days. I put 65 miles on a day just driving to work and back then maybe some more running around. Put it on a couple of days ago.

Catch cans are a worth investment!

I would say check it every 1,000 miles at 1st. You should be able to easily go further than that inbetween draining it. Although in the winter you will get condensation in the can and it will need to be checked more frequently than other seasons.

If anyone is interested we offer the UPR catch cans on our site. UPR is what I use on my personal vehicles. We do also offer other brands if interested in something else, send me a message

I empty mine at every OCI. No need to open it otherwise.

I have a BT CC and while it's not the largest volume holding one out there, as long as I empty & wipe it out at every oil change it's good to go.

Although, a few times over the years I emptied it at the second OCI and it wasn't full. However, I wouldn't go past a second OCI and not empty it.
