My husband took our RAM 2500 gas V-8 through a car wash the other day and about 10 minutes down the road after the wash someone flagged him down because he said fluid was pouring out the bottom of the truck near the rear passenger tire. His wheels spun out some in it when he went to accelerate. Once he stopped a mile away at home, we could see the fluid was pink with an oily consistency. The majority of the fluid was on the shock for the rear passenger tire.

Fearing it was a transmission issue, we had it towed to a trusted mechanic. He says he has checked everywhere and can't find a leak and none of the fluids are low. We're concerned something is being missed and don't want to drive it if there is something major that could cause further damage.

I've attached some pictures of the fluid covered areas. What should we be sure the mechanic has checked before driving it? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

For what I can see from fla. My money would be on that shock. I am not familiar with the oil they use in them but from the pics that’s my guess.

Or something was struck in the road and kicked up.

Degrease the underside and go for a short drive then reinspect the area , that should give you a better idea.

Good idea thanks! A shock would be easy to replace ourselves too...
